These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Duna Atacama Travel and Tourism Agency, hereinafter referred to as “The Agency,” “Duna Atacama,” or “The Company.”

To confirm any tour or excursion, clients are required to make an advance payment of 50% of the total cost. The remaining 50% must be paid upon arrival in San Pedro de Atacama, before the start of the first tour.
Advance payments can be made via local or international bank transfers, TransferWise, or credit/debit card. The final payment can be made using cash (Chilean pesos only), bank transfer, TransferWise, or credit/debit card.
Reservations are not considered confirmed until the initial 50% payment has been successfully received.
Reservation cancellations must be requested up to 30 days prior to the program start time to receive a full refund of 100% of the payment made. Failure to comply with this deadline will result in a penalty fee as per the following table:
From 29 days to 10 days before the start of the program: 25% penalty on the total value of the reservation;
From 9 days to 5 days before the start of the program: 50% penalty on the total value of the reservation;
From 4 days to 2 days before the start of the program: 75% penalty on the total value of the reservation;
There are no refunds for reservations canceled 1 day before the start of the program.
Cancellations, whether total or partial, after the first service will not be refunded. The service must be paid in full, for any reason.
In the event of strong winds, rain, snow, or other weather conditions, or any event beyond our control that poses a risk to the safety of our passengers, the guide may decide to modify the program itinerary, waiting for more favorable weather conditions, taking a different route, or even temporarily ending the expedition.
If the substituted tour is of equal value, no refund will be issued. If the tour is of lesser value, the difference between the tour and the original contracted tour will be refunded. If the tour is of greater value, the difference will be charged.
Sole Paragraph: In the event that no tour can be operated, a 100% refund of the tour price will be issued. Park tickets purchased in advance are subject to park policies. In the event that no refund is issued, the agency is not responsible.
Changes to the itinerary before or during the start of the program must be managed via WhatsApp (+56932592647) or by email at agencia.dunaatacama@gmail.com , checking availability for the desired dates.
Duna Atacama may make changes to the itinerary, even after it has begun, taking into account factors such as weather, tour availability, parks, and/or capacity. If changes to the itinerary are necessary, we will notify you in advance.
Any refund must be requested via email: agencia.dunaatacama @ gmail .com , in person or via WhatsApp with as much detail as possible about the reservation.
Duna Atacama has a period of 7 business days to make the refund after the request is accepted.
Payments made by credit card will be refunded directly to your card. Once the cancellation is made, the bank has 5 business days to process the refund. Payments made by international transfer will be refunded in the same manner. Payments made in cash and/or domestic transfers will be refunded by the same means.
Duna Atacama will not be responsible for theft, loss of objects, accessories, documents, bank cards, or other personal belongings left in the vehicle or on tour.
All equipment provided by Duna Atacama must be returned by the passenger in perfect condition, and the passenger is responsible for any loss or damage.
If a passenger is not picked up for the booked excursion, Duna Atacama will, upon notification within 30 minutes of the pickup time, arrange a shuttle vehicle to rejoin the excursion. If it is not possible to accommodate the passenger on the tour, Duna Atacama will offer alternatives such as modifying the itinerary or fully refunding the missed excursion.
If you have a pre-existing condition such as diabetes, hypertension, or any other chronic illness, it is the passenger's responsibility to inform their doctor about the trip. In particular, if you wish to engage in activities such as trekking and/or volcano exploration, you must also have written authorization from your doctor confirming that you are fit to engage in activities at altitude and in extreme weather conditions.
